Description
The Plays Inside — 22 new LGBTQ+ themed dramatic works from 22 playwrights across the nation. The Covid 19 pandemic dimmed the lights of the 17th International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival in May 2020. We pride ourselves in bringing new works from ‘page to stage’ but now we proudly publish this diverse range of new Irish LGBTQ+ comedy and drama. Featuring 22 plays from the 17th Festival and our LGBTQ+ Theatre Bursary initiative — 22 writers from ‘Derry to Kerry’ and including the Irish LGBTQ diaspora, share a modern take on isolation and relationships in their new works for gay theatre.
Curated by Festival founder and Artistic Director Brian Merriman, this compendium will keep you well entertained until this unique theatre festival returns to Dublin stages on the first Monday in May annually, for two weeks of new and exciting live LGBTQ+ theatre.
