We are honoured to host a discussion between John Gibbons, author of The Lie of the Land, and fellow environmentalist Padraic Fogarty, on Ireland’s agricultural future in the face of climate change. Join us on Sunday 16th of November at 2pm for an insight into how Ireland’s agribusiness giants have made Ireland increasingly vulnerable, and, more importantly, how we can undo the damage wrought by years of dishonesty. The Lie of the Land has been shortlisted for An Post Non-Fiction Book of the Year and it is certainly an inspiring read, with revolutionary ideas on farming, renewable energy, and food security. John Gibbons is an environmental journalist and commentator on climate change in Ireland. He is the founder of climatechange.ie and has campaigned for climate for over a decade. The Lie of the Land is his first book.
Pádraic Fogarty is an ecologist, former campaign member of the Irish Wildlife Trust, author of Whittled Away: Ireland’s Vanishing Nature, and host of podcast ‘Shaping New Mountains’.
