On Thursday 7 November at 6pm we’ll be launching IRELAND IN NUMBERS by Jackie McCann and illustrated by Dermot Flynn.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
From the founding of the Irish Free State to today, Ireland in Numbers covers everything you ever wanted to know about the people of Ireland, with bite-size facts and vibrant illustrations.
Drawing on information from the 2022 Irish census and the 1911/1926 censuses, Ireland in Numbers provides the answers to important questions like how many children in Ireland go to school now compared to 100 years ago, why are there fewer people today than there were in 1924, and are there really more cows than people on our island?
Take a deep dive into the data and you’ll be amazed by what the numbers tells about Ireland past and present!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR:
Jackie McCann is the author of several books for children including the bestselling If The World Were 100 People, which won the Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize in 2022 and the ALCS Educational Writers’ Award in 2023.
Dermot Flynn is an artist, illustrator and designer based between Dublin and London. His work has won numerous awards, including the Macmillan Prize for Children’s Book Illustration, and a Silver Lion at the Cannes Advertising Festival.
