Description
This collection of bird portraits by Alwyn Gillespie shows some of the gorgeous creatures that share our plaent. They are portraits, as defined by Mad Sweeney, in that they try to capture each bird in its individuality, not just in dinstincion from those of another species. A bird changes its plumage, like a coat, from season to season, from gender to gender, from youth to age, so we should think of the bird beyond its appearance, as an individual being. And this thinking bring us to the sheer wonder of the universe.
